Currently one of the hottest starts in the drama realm and starring in latest MBC drama 7th Grave Civil Servant, Joo Won participated in a photo shoot with fashion magazine Elle.
Just like the concept of the shoot, Joo Won managed to appear natural and cool with his deep emotion-filled eyes and instinctive poses, despite not being a professional model.
During the interview, the focus seemed to rotate around his drama co-star, Choi Kang Hee, who is 10 years older than him. The large age gap between the two actors has been highlighted since the drama began, but Joo Won replied that he doesn’t worry about the gap at all.
“Strangely enough, I keep forgetting about the age gap more and more,” said the actor. “I really enjoy acting with [Choi Kang Hee] nuna. Sometimes, we meet before filming and help each other practice our lines.”
On acting in a romantic comedy, jam packed with action scenes, Joo Won said that the drama was a genre he’s always wanted to challenge himself with. “It was a bit hard in the beginning, but it got better after I started practicing with Choi Kang Hee.”
Despite his rise to stardom, Joo Won said, “As I get older and unavoidably change a bit living as a celebrity, I always promise myself not to change.”
“I want to maintain the ‘human Joo Won’ of now,” said Joo Won, adding that he hoped to still be an actor 10 to 20 years from now.
The interview and pictorial will be available in the March issue.
