“Good Doctor” Fastened atop TV Charts for 9 Weeks Straight

KBS’s series “Good Doctor” has been locked atop Monday and Tuesday TV charts for whopping nine weeks straight.

After breaking 20 percent mark last week, the medical drama secured its top place on AGB Nielsen Media Research (Nielsen Korea)’s ratings chart after grabbing an average score of 20.4 percent on September 30 and October 1, according to the chart Wednesday.

Only one week left to end its running, the Joo Won and Moon Chae-won starrer went romantic this week by depicting Park Sion’s (Joo) ardent love toward Cha Yoon-seo (Moon) in acoustic song named “If I Were,” sung by the lead actor himself.

With a big gap between the chart-topper, SBS’s new series “The Mystery Housemaid,” starring Choi Ji-woo and Lee Sung-jae, dropped 1 percent and attracted an average mark of 7.2 percent in the same time frame.

Sitting at the bottom is MBC’s period-set epic “Goddess of Fire,” which drew in an average of 6.8 percent of total viewers.

It was the first week of resuming its air after the lead actress Moon Geun-young’s accident on the filming set, which forced to replace the show’s airing with two special episodes last week.

Meanwhile, TNmS’s (Total National Multimedia Statistic) survey showed the three programs in the different order and figures.

“Good Doctor” grabbed the top seed with an average score of 18.5 percent, while “Goddess” and “The Mystery” followed next two positions in order, each with average ratings of 7.4 and 7.3 percent, respectively.
